Building on the success of the Mists of Pandaria Remix event in 2024, Blizzard Entertainment has announced the next expansion slated for the “remix” treatment in World of Warcraft. The development of a Legion Remix was officially confirmed at PAX East 2025.
While comprehensive details about the Legion Remix were not extensively shared during the announcement, Associate Game Director Jeremy Feasel offered some early insights into what the team is exploring. Hints included the concept of a higher difficulty world tier referred to as the “Shattered Timeline,” and the potential for new “wild scaling” features that could significantly impact Mythic Keystone dungeon experiences.
Feasel noted that determining which specific elements of the Legion expansion will be included and how they will be adapted for the remix is an ongoing process. He highlighted that Legion contains considerably more content and a greater number of distinct systems compared to Mists of Pandaria, suggesting the project involves significant developmental considerations. Players can therefore anticipate a reimagined return to the Broken Isles in the future.
